Chapter Five

Luke lay in bed and watched James sleep. The professor looked a lot softer when he slept, his mouth slightly open as he snored gently. It was an endearing sight.

They managed to make it to the bedroom before they were on each other again, exploring each other’s bodies. Now he was out of his shell, James was certainly something to behold. He knew how to make Luke’s body sing, his hands sending Luke almost into the stratosphere. And the positions he knew…

It was safe to say that experience had taught James a lot of things. And Luke loved it.

He was glad that John wasn’t going to bother them. The weekend was his to do whatever he wanted without any interruptions. Would James be up for staying a little longer? He didn’t have any classes over the weekend and no obligations that Luke knew of.

James to himself for the weekend, Luke could get used to that. Especially if this wasn’t a one-off thing like James had said earlier.

James stirred, rubbing his eyes as he shifted onto his side. Then he opened his eyes, focusing on Luke. He smiled, and Luke felt the familiar stirring in his chest. Damn, it would be so easy to fall in love with a man like James Nicholls.

Luke certainly had.

“Hey.”

“Hey.” James propped his head up with a hand. “What time is it?”

“Close to midnight.”

“Shit.” James winced. “I hadn’t meant to stay that long.”

“You can stay as long as you want.” Luke slipped his arm around James’ waist, easing in close. “John’s staying with the in-laws this weekend. We’ve got the house to ourselves.”

“Hmm.” James smiled. “I like the sound of that.”

“Mostly because I want to see how many more positions you can think up.”

James laughed.

“You can be as creative as you want if you put your mind to it. I just do it more often.”

“Which is why I let you take charge?”

“Fair enough.” James kissed him. “No regrets about this?”

Luke shook his head.

“None at all. You?”

“Only that I foisted my daughter onto you.” James grimaced. “Again.”

Luke laughed.

“You will repay me for that at some point, Professor. I’ll make sure of it.”

“I don’t doubt it.”

Luke stroked James’ back, and found the older man snuggling in close with a satisfied sigh. He circled his fingers around the small of his back, trailing his forefinger up James’ spine.

“You could have just asked me for my number. That would’ve worked.”

“But I’m not that good with people. You know that. And…” James hesitated. “I just didn’t know how to go about it.”

“You’re an idiot.” Luke kissed him, nipping James’ lower lip with his teeth. “But for now, you’re my idiot. I dig awkwardness in the right guy. You’re going to be fine with me.”

“I’m sure.”

James rolled onto his back, his arm sliding around Luke. Luke went with him, now trailing his fingers up James’ belly, tickling the silver hairs. James tucked an arm behind his head and stared at the ceiling.

“This isn’t going to be a problem for you at work?”

“With John? No, seeing as he was the one who sent you here.
